As a former managing consultant, her client’s included Naval Air Systems Command NAVAIR headquarters, Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) [Weapons Division (WD), Aircraft Division (AD) and Training Services Division (TSD)], Naval Air Shore Station, Patuxent River and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) at Department of Justice (DOJ). Dr. Mecha’s career, as a Procurement Subject Matter (SME) expert, has lived in the Middle East, specifically, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Iraq, and Qatar, to support the US Warfighters.

Education

Dr. Mecha, a natural born artists, also obtained her formal education at Institute of Management and Technology where she obtained the Nigerian Certificate of Art Education. Following that, she obtained her bachelors of Art in Fine Arts at the University of Maryland, Global Campus (UMGC). She then pursued her Master of Science in Computers Systems Management and specialty in Information Resource Management. Dr. Mecha continued her academic pursuit at Capella University, where she obtained her Doctor of Philosophy in Organization and Management under the school of Business, specializing in Information Technology.

Experience

Dr. Mecha, expresses her love of culture through her work as an artists in several mediums, painting, fiber, metal, wood, clothes designer, and seamstress, fulfilling the talents she inherited from her parents. Her late father, a lecturer at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) had a great interest in African affairs, arts, and folklore, which he communicated through his research in Agriculture and at every opportune moment while her mother excelled as a designer, seamstress, baker, and event coordinator at her sewing institute, Ogbonne I. Mecha, established for her by her father.

She also trained as a Database Administrator before she embarked on her journey as a DOD consultant.

Other Initiatives

In 1999, Dr. Mecha became the Vice President, Programs of the Association for Women in Computing, Baltimore Chapter.
